About Heartwood

Our property is just minutes from Mendocino's beaches, parks and sweet town, yet private and quiet as it is surrounded by 50,000 acre state forest with world class hiking and biking trails directly accessed from our place.

Around the giant redwoods and meadows we have sprinkled in the most amazing little cabins and deluxe bath house. We have a great outdoor camp kitchen available for your use. This is a very special experience for us to share with you.

We are excited to be hosting The Huckleberry Jam again in 2026, on Labor Day weekend! It’s a fabulous micro festival and this year you can again expect a lineup full of fantastic bands, workshops, food and joy! Choose one of our separate structured tent cabins with decks, real windows and door, top quality beds with heated mattresses, yummy linens & pillows and a down comforters. We also provide you with towels & lanterns for all of the essentials you will need for your cozy stay.
This comfortable country home was originally built on the property in 1921 and has been lovingly restored. A light and sun filled house is surrounded by acres of meadows and forest land. World class hiking and biking trails surround the property. Our place is not super fancy, but it is clean and comfortable, warm and friendly. Guests love our place, and make many return visits.
